Some of you who know me, know I love golf. And .Tiger Woods I've been a Tiger fan since his second US amateur win in 1995. Okay I have a "man-crush" on him. He's my favorite sporting character.
Kind of the same way Fred feels about Dougie G.
I love hearing people say that Tiger's over-rated (Stats) or he's bad for the sport cause I don't care or give a crap...I've been on this bandwagon for a long time and I ain't getting off. It's funny really.
I have a Tiger Woods bobble head, commemorative golf balls and a Tiger Woods Wheaties box.( Okay I just re-read that last part and that's not funny, more pathetic...but I digress.)
My friends and family actually call to congratulate me on Tiger wins and to raze me when he loses. It's been a great summer!
People who don't like Tiger remind me of Hockey fans when I was living in Calgary. They would say Gretzky was over-rated or whatever and I would just laugh. Of course they were Flame's fans, but I couldn't figure out how they couldn't recognize his greatness. I use to think it was a rare gift to be around a phenomenon in sport and getting to see Gretzky was that. Same with Jordan. Same with Tiger.
Most of us weren't around for Babe Ruth or Ben Hogan or The Last Great Leaf Team.
We do get to witness the most dominant player in any sport and that sport happens to be golf.
Weird.
Having said that...I think the Americans will lose the Ryder Cup.
