Well it's the day after Chrismukkah and now what? I can't eat anymore. I've got all my presents.
It's not time to drink again is it?
I hope your yesterday was as special as ours. My kids are the perfect age, 8 and 12, to still enjoy opening presents but old enough to play with them by themselves. Although having said that, I spent a good portion of yesterday morning changing computer monitors and keyboards.
What did you get? Who's house did you go to? When did you eat your turkey?
I got a couple of great books from my pals Lou and Fraser, some wine a sharp coat from Randee and a gift to be named later.(something coming in the mail that didn't get here but I kind of know what it is and it's going to be great.)
Spencer my 8 year old gave me a watch from Ardene's and Charlie my 12 old ran out of my money (remember when your dad gave you money to buy presents...I do.) so Charlie gave me a card and a book of coupons she made her self. They included going to get 7 glasses of water, 5 "go get me a.... (I'm always asking her to fetch ) 5 meals, 10 take your sister to the washroom, 12 kisses in public and 5 free embarrassments. (remember when your dad embarrassed you in public...my daughters do!)
I make the turkey in my house and yesterday's was pretty good. 13 pounds, very tasty and for the first time I used rice in my sausage/fennel/onion stuffing and not bread. It was awesome.
My secret ingredient is garlic. I not only put a little in the stuffing but I slice bits of it and stick right into the turkey meat. Yes it delicious. Yes you should try it.
The gravy was good but I had to make it twice. The first time everything was fine, I'm stirring the pot, the chicken stock and turkey juice is reducing and I toss in a little corn starch and instead of thickening, everything in the pot rises up and bubbles over like a volcano. I threw in baking soda instead of corn starch which apparently have very different qualities.(I was only drinking wine...)
Anyway after we cleaned up and the smoke alarm stopped I made it again and it was fine.
So that's it. Not bad for a house full of Hebe's...Santa, Tree, Presents, Turkey and we're done.
Merry Chrismukkah and to all a good night.

Wow, sounds like a great day! I got some good loot, including some polar fleece pjs I intend to spend the rest of the week in while I eat turkey leftovers. Ahhh, life is good!

Sounds like a great day! Shame about the gravy though. The bird carving in our house yesterday was a bit scary, as i decided to carve a nice slice out of my hand along the way. a quick visit to the neighbours house to get patched up and all is well.

At my house there was lots of oohing and aahing over the LCD monitor, IPods and the like but nothing got the attention and laughs as Howard's slime book. Best bang for the buck by far!

Hello Howard:
Well the hints worked. I got the Slime for Christmas from my son. He had a hard time finding it. He went to the local chapters in Cambridge, and they were sold out. He called Kitchener, and they had 6 left. When he got there, he was able to get the last one. You must be doing a great job of marketing. All the best in 2007
