This trade deadline thing seems to be quite the deal. For me? Not so much. Unless The Leafs can trade for Sydney Crosby I don't think anything will change.
I have friends who are Leafs fans and you sir(me) are no Leaf Fan.
I spent the weekend at The Temple Gardens Spa in Moose Jaw. You'd never believe how good the room was. I'm serious. It was one of the nicest hotel rooms/mini-suites I've ever stayed in.
I can see why it's booked solid most weekends of the year.
I also lost a hundred bucks in The Moose Jaw Casino.
It was late, I may have been over-served and I vaguely recall doubling down on 6.
I think David Miller may have a point. I know he's a left wing socialist whatever but something has to be done to start paying for programs and improvements in cities across Canada.
Raising property taxes is kinda sucking don't ya think? A penny from the GST is one of those quaint, good Sound Bites-crazy schemes that just might work...dagnabit.
I have no doubt the federal government will say no, because that's what they do.
But it's certainly time that some more federal money was targeted for municipalities and cities. Especially this one.

I am sure the Feds would be more open to look at this if Miller would just stop whining and wasting tons of taxpayers money on other stupid things. Just listen to Rob Ford (city councilor) on 640 AM once a week and find out how wasteful these guys are.
Thank god I live in Mississauga and not TO.
