This may be hard to explain but....

You see there's this Radio Message board that for years has not always been big fans of The Humble and Fred Show. It's a popular place where Radio people and fans of the business meet to discuss the issues of the day. For many years that discussion has either not included us or has been very negative.

I don't really remember why. I think back when it first began Fred and I got on and started to post back and forth to one another and sort of mocked the whole thing. Maybe that was it.
I never post on this board. I don't think Fred does either.

Recently the Board People were uncharacteristically nice to Fred.

Then the other night one of the "Regular H+F Haters" posted something, mentioned me, I got pissed off and I sent him a note telling him to go F himself. A strange thing happened.
The guy, Brent sent me his home phone number. I was blown away.
I called it, we talked, were semi-mature and both of us left a little bewildered as to why there'd been such acrimony between us all these years. Hey, the dude's from Saskatchewan!

A few days after our peace-summit, he wrote this on the Board.

Long time big yellow board readers/lurkers may well have figured out that I was not, for the longest of times, president of the Humble Howard fan club.

As a matter of fact, there was acrimony, antipathy, sarcasm, cynicism and all sorts of things between us - mostly revealed, though, in my posts.
Then this Saturday night happened. I made one of my usual snarky asides at Humble (since edited out, don't bother looking for it). Humble wrote me a terse email in response. I sent Humble an email back with my home number and told him to call. Humble phoned me. We talked.

I'm happy to report the Peace Pipe has been smoked, the olive branch was extended, and we sang "Kumbayah" together.

And Humble? Sorry for all the snark. No, really.
And thanks for the phone call.
And Fred? If you wanna talk, get my number from Humble... I'm not kidding.

So far no one's responded. On the other hand there's been no Hatred Flame Thread either, so maybe that's a start!

Really? Did Brett Lamb offer a reason why he hides behind the alias Brent Taylor? I'd be cautious, H.
