Week 10 and Team Teal goes out with a whimper and a Pizza!

One last game and the Team Teal season is over. It was a great first half and then we went into some kind of dream state, because all hell broke loose and we got our butts smoked.
Team Red, which is coached by this sexy tall women and some dude who knows all the "rules", beat us 11-5!
11-5 is not our typical game considering we've been 4-3 over the final 7 games.

To tell you the truth I don't care about the score. We were outplayed in the second half but that's sports and stuff happens.
I just want to say for the record(not that there is a record) that I have thoroughly enjoyed this soccer coaching thing. Seriously. It has been a great experience for me and I hope the girls have had a laugh or two along the way.
I yell quite a bit but very often what I'm yelling is just stupid.
I think the girls like that.

I was very proud to be Team Teal's coach and I think if you go back and read my entries about soccer coaching you'll see the kids really got wayyyyyyyyyy better as the season progressed.
(Just go to the right side of the page, click on "Archives" and then click on "Soccer Coaching")
I'm not taking any credit mind you, I just think this is a great group of kids and I really liked being part of this experience.

After the game we had Pizza!
Since this was the end of the Winter Indoor Season we made arrangements to grab a slice and hang out for a few minutes after. It was nice as I got to tell the kids how proud I was to be their coach and how awesome I thought they were.
Later they gave me a box of Pizza Crusts. They are funny too. I shall cherish those crusts as long as I live.
Goalie Nicole's mom Toni gave me a nice bottle of Pinot that I'm sipping on now. Thanks T your and your kid are both very very nice.
My daughter Charlie whom I quite like, sort of surprised me with a home-made card when I got home. (Yes I got sort of weepy...that's what Dad's do!)

Over the past 3 months I've mentioned many of my players occasionally, if you don't mind I'd like to introduce you to all the player of Team Teal.
Therese,(whose name I quite never pronounced correctly) Goalie Rachel,(Saved our bacon all the time) Other Rachel,(very sweet and nice) Goalie Nicole(she thinks I'm weird, mom is very cool.) Amanda (very intense and most improved) Abigail(amazing kid, very nice parents) Danielle,(Coach Patrick's kid, he's weird, she's nice) Nutty Nicole, (very odd, probably grow up to be CEO of Microsoft)
Jenna (very cool also very good) Kaitlyn(sweet and much improved) Deana( Dee Dee, amazing skill, great kid) and Charlie.

Charlie as you know is my daughter, love of my life and a pretty decent player.(scored 6 goals in one game and 3 goals twice. Yes I'm bragging.)
The reason I coached is because she wanted me to and if she asked me to do it again I would.

Coach Coach

We want to thank you for the amazing job you did. We especially enjoyed you “shrieking like a girl”. I have to say we'll miss that the most. The highlight of the season, had to have been last night looking into the girls faces when almost took off your shirt…priceless lol
You know we are all going to go through shrieking withdrawal so if you could just call us all every Thursday evening but not at 5:30p cause you know that time was designed to make us nuts and should have been reserved for soccer kids much younger then ours! One thing we do have to point out is we were really sad we never did learn that Team Teal song ~ so if you could sing it for us that would be awesome. All kidding aside you did a great job and the girls had a blast and that is what really matters. ~ Good Job Coach
