Wow, time flies when you're not working.
One year ago today I did my last show on the Radio.
I said goodbye on the air with some smart ass comment like "I'll be going on holidays for a couple of weeks and I'll see you around the middle of July...I hope!"
You see here's the thing.
I knew I was being fired. I had a feeling for some time that things weren't right and I had been joking with Bingo Bob that this was probably our last show.
I hoped I was wrong.
I wasn't.
One year ago today I left the Radio station and me and the girls went on our best family vacation ever.
When I returned I was fired and I've been fired ever since.
One year ago already.
Time flies when your not introducing Maroon 5.
One year ago today I went from being a guy on the Radio to being a Radio guy without a gig.
Honestly, in some ways the best year of my life.
I'm fascinated to see what the next 12 months will bring.

I remember listening to you that morning.. You were funny as always and some oriental woman was sooo upset that you were going on vacation. Was she a crazed Humble fan or what??

So if you can't get back on the radio anytime soon, which would be really nice, are you at least going to another H&F podcast?

Funny, somehow I knew it too. The whole crew "on vacation"? What a thinly veiled way to say "someone's contract is up, and we're not sure how this is going to go yet". It is so brutal how that happens! You start to feel like you know someone, then all of a sudden the speakers in my car pretend he never existed. But it is really kind of stalkerish, from your point of view, Howard - I mean really, you have all these loyal listeners who think they know you, they tell your stories at parties like you're their best friend "I know this guy and..." but in reality, you have no idea who they are. Doesn't that wig you out a little?
Get back on the radio, will ya?
