Even though it was -400 yesterday I had a very enjoyable time hosting the Big Brothers and Big Sisters ski day out in Caledon.
Strange how it can be cold as the moon but if you're dressed properly and doing something fun you can spend hours outside.
This is my second time hosting this day and it was a blast. Nice people, great organization and a tidy hundred G's raised.
I got back on a snowboard for the first time since I learned during the Christmas break and it was a success. In so much as I didn't break anything or hobble myself.
I wrote about my calamitous time at the beginning of my boarding career and to be honest I was a little nervous about going back. After I wrote that entry I found out I really did break my thumb and my arse bone is still a bit tender.
Nevertheless I was much more comfortable and I really dig the sport. It's way more fun when you're not falling constantly. Yesterday I only fell a couple of times-mainly getting off the chairlift. Dang that contraption to hell.
I'm doing the same thing I do most weekends. Taking my kids to soccer practice, to soccer games and home from said practices and games. Also I'm going to hang with my pal Lou Schizas, (tied for smartest guy I know-yes DW with you!) my Bro Steve is coming in and I may actually get back in a plane for the first time in 2 and half months.
I hope you all have a great weekend and if we're all lucky it'll warm up to -200!
