Neil Diamond Night on Idol...

...and I'd forgotten how much I liked Neil D.
Neil Diamond was the kids "Mentor", really just an excuse to pimp his catalogue.
Did you know that the Neil has sold over 120 million records? Thats a lot of gelt.
The Idol hope-fuls covered a bunch of tunes and if I'm being honest all of them were a bit tepid.
Dave Cook was the best of the luke-warms and I think that Brooke-I'm hot but annoying is going home.
I was checking out The Boon and was reminded of an Urge Overkill version of a Neil tune they covered for Pulp Fiction.
Here is Neil doing the original Girl you'll be a Women soon.

For more fun check out this BBC clip with The Neil and his Giant Hair doing I am I said. Great tune and a real old school TV clip filled with the cheesy dissolves and dreamy close ups.

Gotta fess up to my love for Neil...went to see him at the ACC a while back and the man can put on a show!

He's one of those great preformers where you go to the show and somehow know the words to every song and are not quite sure how and why you know all those words...I think he's a bit like Anne Murray for me, the back ground music of my growing up...

He's on my Ipod and I would not mind being on top of him... Oops, did I say that out loud?!?! bad SoccerMom
Can you tell I am a fan :o)

One of the great modern tune-smiths! His Taproot manuscript album...insanely brilliant! My dad listened to him endlessly as a child. I often remember falling asleep with "Son Sung Blue" or "Sweet Caroline" being the last thing I heard.
