Years ago when I used to do a little Radio show, Rob Ford was an amusing guest from time to time.
I mean both he was amusing and a guest, from time to time.
Anyway he was the aforementioned simply because he was a "loose" cannon. He would say outrageous things and it was fun to hear him slam the other nitwits on City Council.
Well I guess that act has worn a little thin. The Asian-non apology thing, the threatening to kill your wife thing and now this nasty little clip.
I got this off of the Mighty Boon's site and it's sickening. It is Rob Fords' true colors and the reason he will never be Mayor of Toronto. It is the type of thing that will be run over and over again should he even think of trying for office.
The people in his ward might be cool with good old Rob's antics but his schtick has gotten old and it certainly won't play outside of his inner circle.

Ford is the only person keeping Miller and his lisping left leaning buddies in check at city hall.
The facts are still not clear in regards to his arrest.
As for insulting Asians that’s a joke. The only people insulted are white middle class Riverdale dwellers who have this liberal guilt that we have to be so careful about everything we say. I thank God Ford is not like that.

I am awake. I have known Rob for a long time and I agree that he has been the voice of reason down at the Miller Tavern for many years. Forget whether the Asian thing was a joke or not(and trust me more than Riverdale dwellers were insulted) and whether or not the spousal abuse sticks or it doesn't..the video alone all but assures he will never be Mayor. Too bad? Maybe. Too much ammunition for his opponents. That's all.
Must go back to napping now.

I agree Ford is a hot heat but I’m not surprised a fat person would be offended if they were called a ‘fat fawk’.
The Asian thing was not intended to be a joke (although I found quite hilarious). That said Ford was complementing Asians for their strong work effort – something most people would agree with.

I agree the Asian thing was meant as a compliment but in our Fawked up world you can't say Asians are hard working or it is construed as Racist. My issue with Rob is he has basically given up his role as "The Guy who's Right on any number of issues" and now he's that "Fat/Right-Wing, Wife-Beatin, Nut-Job who freaked out at a report. Here lets watch the video again!"

I don't know this guy and have never heard of him before. (Don't they say all politics is local?)
I can't comment on his past statements or antics.
But, I have to say....a reporter calls him a Fat F%$k, unprovoked, in front of a room full of people and it's Rob Ford whom we are supposed to question?
That reporter (whoever he is) should be fired.

Your correct the reporter is in the wrong. But the level of insanity and raw Bat-Shit Crazy that Rob displays in the video is what will sink him. That's the issue I raised. The guy might have been able to run for Mayor but not anymore. And it's not his comments or performance or his record. It's like the dude running for President who got excited and shrieked. That clip sunk him forever.

Totally disagree with you on this one.
Did he get way too excited?? Of course he did. However, in most cases it is the left wing media and city counsel who hound him. This time he finally got an opportunity to turn the table around and he used it to its fullest.
Should this be a reason for not running for mayor?? I think not. After all, look how many dumb and embarrassing things Mel Lastman used to say during his tenure and he was still a way better mayor than Miller.
Now go back to napping.

It's not whether he should run for Mayor it's whether he can now. My take? He can't. He's damaged goods beyond repair.
BTW When Melvin Lastman made those hysterical remarks he was already Mayor.

Well, I didn't expect a different answer from Mike Boon.
We'll see when election time comes if Rob Ford is even interested in running for Mayor. I have my doubts. Personally, I wish he would and if all the "working stiff" come out and vote he would have a good chance. By working stiff I mean all the hard working blue collar workers and the orientals who are sleeping besides their machines.

Lastman may well have been mayor when he made those comments, but we all knew what the guy was like! "Nooooooobody!" ;-)
Come on, T. has a habit of electing complete idiots as mayor, why would you think that wouldn't happen with Ford. He is eccentric, sure, but he has character and for some weird reason Torontonians like that.
As for the video, I like his balls. He stood up for himself and shamed the reporter into leaving. Good on him.
