I understand Uncle Ted Rogers will be bringing in the Apple iPhone sooner than later. Rogers profits are already soaring but he took time out from counting his mountains of cash to mention yesterday that even he is getting concerned about Ontario's economy. I don't think he's personally concerned, after he's got lots of dough and I imagine he's already on the Rogers Wireless network. Lucky Ted.
I'm with Bell.
Year 2 of a 3 year contract.
No iPhone for me even if I wanted it cause I'm being held hostage by Bell. It's the same with most carriers-you sign the deal and get the cheap Blackberry and you're locked in.
Yes I can get out of it but I'll have to pay and the incentive just isn't there.(If I could I'd bolt and get the iPhone the first chance I got.)
It's a quirk of the wireless system that we're all tied up in these multi-year deals and are penalized in order to exit.
The pay-for-use phones are probably the best but they aren't Blackberry or Razr's and they certainly aren't the iPhone. Which I can't have. Maybe I'll borrow Ted's.

The iphone won't be here anytime soon i think they said fall for xmas no doubt. then you'll be in year 3 so you won't have to wait to long for your lame phone i mean iphone.

my friend has an iphone already. he got it unlocked. he sells them, too online. they're real fun to use and would love one when the come over here but i'm in the same boat as you, howie. one more year with ma bell.

I am kind of in the same boat with a bit of a twist. I am with Fido when they had you join with no contract but what keeps you is the amazing plan that no one can touch. And even though Fido is owned by Rogers we still don't get the good phones! So no Iphone for me either but my solis is I'm in good company with the rest of the No Iphone for you group.

I'm NOT getting the iPhone. Just because Rogers screwed me over. They never sent me the $50 rebate the clerk at Rogers promised I'd get after I purchased a cellphone. That was nearly 3-months ago.
They screwed me over with that and I'm sure Rogers would find a way to screw me over with the iPhone too.
When VirginMobile comes up with iPhone then I'm definitely buying one.

If you use your cheap BB for sending email/text messages, you won;t want a iPhone. The so called keyboard is cr@p.
It's a great MP3 player, but at less than 1/2 the price, you can buy an iTouch.
Check your contract with MaBell, look for reasons that you can break it, for example, if they over bill you, that is often a breach of contract that can allow you to exit with no penalty.
Call Rogers and tell them you are unhappy with Bell and ask them to help you get out. Better yet, take your bill/contract to a Rogers wireless store and get them to get you out and a better contract and phone.
