I admit that I'm not a big hockey fan. Although I played it a level that would probably surprise a lot of you, I've just never been a big watcher of the game. Cept when I was a kid and Bobby Orr was my Tiger Woods.
Anyway, just a question. Why Detroit? And by extension, Why not Toronto.
Just wondering.
FYI. Apparently this win ties Detroit with Toronto for second most Stanly Cup wins.

To Mike is right but forgot managemant and coaching. Mostly management which is lacking in TO.

Why? Detroit has a professional hockey team, Toronto..........does not. Simple. All the comments by other's are just old, tired, excuses.

Mike: Actually its NOT the draft. They only have 1 number 1 pick on the team. Dan Cleary is it and he was drafted by Chicago.
They’ve scouted and traded for quality players that no one else wanted. Their GMs and scouting staff are incredible and they have a solid coach who insist the players play a system.

Argie, that's my point. They draft quality players in later rounds. A blind squirrel and land a solid player with a first round pick, but Detroit lands Zetterberg and Datsyuk with super late picks.
If the Leafs could draft like the Red Wings draft, we'd be fine.
