By the time most of you read this...

I'll be back on the Radio.
Right now it's Sunday night. I've spent the day watching my youngest play soccer, keeping track of the propane fire, checking out the Olympics, watching the final round of the PGA, doing hours of show prep and getting more and more nervous.
Yes I've had butterflies all day and it's weird.
I've been a Radio announcer since July of 1977 and I can't remember the last time I was nervous before I went to work. Sure this is different because as many of you know I haven't "Radio Announced" for some 25 months.
The last time I was on the Air was the end of June, 2006. I listened to a little bit of that show the other night and it was a surreal. I had known for some time that I was in danger of losing my job and on my last break, I said,"Steve Anthony will be here Monday and we'll be back on the 17th after our 2 week break." Then I paused and both Bingo Bob and I said in unison,"...but you NEVER KNOW!"
Well that holiday lasted just a bit longer than I planned. Now I'm ready to get back to the one thing I love doing more than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I have dug all the amazing opportunities and jobs I've been part of these past 25 months, but I guess there's a reason I'm still doing this after 31 years. I really missed it and I'm glad to get the chance to be part of Broadcasting again.

The new program is called The EZ Morning Show with Humble, Kim and Colleen.
I would love for you to give it a chance. It's going to be a whole new experience for me and I'm very lucky to get to work with these 2 amazing(and extremely attractive) women. I'll be writing about them and the new show in the coming weeks but in the meantime if you'd like to check out some of the EZ Rock music go to TheBoon's site.
And for a little interview I did with my pal Shane, go here.
Also, and I'll touch on this some more later thanks very much to all the Radio and non-Radio people that e-mailed me with congratulations. It was very touching and nice to hear from some of my pals and old Radio peeps from days gone by.

Well I'm going to stop now because it's nearly bed-time...or at least trying to go to bed-time.
I know one thing I haven't forgotten and that's just how early 3:15 am is.

Good Luck Humble!! I'm switching my clock radio tonight so I can wake up to the new show! I like Kim Stockwood (neat addition) and Colleen, but selfishly I hope this eventually leads to the return of Humble and Fred! My mornings haven't been the same without you two!

Good on you HH, man has it been 25 months, it almost just seemed like 1 year ago.

Hey Humble:

Good to hear you'll be back on morning radio! Congrats!

Go get 'em Humble. Have a blast this morning.
Shwarma

Hey HH, It worked out that I am going to be able to listen before, We leave for holidays (due to some later sleepers and OT workers). And so far I love the show minus Alicia Keys and Shania
:o)
And Hey Kim as in the musician? Kim from the East Coast

Wow, I could not believe it when I heard you this morning! I've missed you so much. I downloaded your podcasts and would listen to them wistfully.

This is awesome. You have the best radio voice in the business, I just bought a new truck and I moved to a new city and today was the first time that I actually programmed a preset channel.

YAY! Things are looking up!

YES!!!!!
FINALLY!!!

Congrats Howard! Just finished listening to your first show--the last hour anyway. can't get it in my car, so I have to listen online when I get to work.
But that's cool with me!

Can't tell you how nice it is to hear you again. I'll even suffer through Madonna to hear you! (hehe...)

Great job! Look forward to it and best of luck!!

JON

I had to drive the car so I got to listen. Music linda sucks (OK I'm being nice!) But it was great to hear your voice. I've missed you in the morning. Best of luck going forward.

Nice job. Way to stick it out, get paid and then get hired again. Word.

Hey HH,

I listened to almost the full show and I thought it was pretty good. I'd be in for more talking and less tunes, but as I've stated here and there the good-to-bad-song-ratio is about the same on any station.

(No, I don't dig Celine Dion or Phil Collins but I don't dig Nickelback or Sum 41 or Linkin Park either)

Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you again, this time about a great first day.

Next time I see you I am going to have to see whether or not you really smell like chicken soul or if it was just a clever 'bit'

Terrific news! I have reset the radio buttons in my car.

Congratulations Howard!

Have no idea what made me turn on the radio in my kitchen this morning - except to learn that you are BACK ON IT! (Usually I listen in my car on the way to work.) Put a smile on my face to hear your voice on the air again. You rock. Toronto has missed you. Welcome back, Howard!

Way to go Howard....I am so
happy for you

Love Mom

Hey there Humble-Mann!!

I was so excited to hear that you were FINALLY getting back to the land of the radio, I (almost) couldn't wait for monday morning!!

So very glad to hear you once again. Your blogs are okay, but I prefer the "live" version, having grown up listening to you and Fred!!

I'm not a fan of easy rock, and I wasn't a fan of the mixx, but will tune in JUST for the sake of listening to you!!

So glad you're back!!

Hey there Howard.

Congrats on the new gig! You have been a big part of my morning routine since 1989, & I am a loyal follower. You were also a big inspiration to me last year, when I too lost my job, and you posted my comments related to (both yours and) my situation.

I have since switched to sattelite radio, but I don't mind E-Z Rock at all on the weekends. I will now add weekday mornings to that mix..I mean list.

Take care & good luck!!
