A couple of my favorite Bloggers wrote some fine Bloggage today. Fredie P put out a good piece on Ed Robertson's "way too close call" in his Cessna 206 amphib. (Means it has wheels and pontoons)
Freddie contends that flying is best left to those who don't tell fart jokes and make juvenile noises...I say you can do both.(Check out FP's for the funny/serious entry.)
I say that Ed and myself are trained to fly these things and the fact that we don't do it for a living doesn't preclude us from doing it well. I will say that I have been flying a lot less this year and that makes me only more cautious when I do.
It was a very close call and I'm just glad that ER is okay.
And today was a big day at Astral. I was privy to a sneak peak of the new Virgin 999 and it is one impressive sumbitch.
It will knock the market on it's ears a bit and I wish them all the success in the world.
I was there when The Mix went on the air 17 years ago this labor day-in fact I was the first person to say Mix999 on the air- and it was kind of cool to witness the end of the Mix and the beginning of Virgin Radio.
Read more about it the House of Boon.
On a personal note I did my first break with Rick Hodge today and it was interesting/weird/cool. I have been on the air in competition with him (sort of) for nearly 20 years and here we were actually talking on the same show together.
He is a pro and it was immediately evident that he has been at this Radio-Rodeo for some time.
He is part of our new show at EZ Rock and Tuesday at 8:40 he'll be joining us again for some Easy to Answer Trivia for Money.(Formerly Ricks Rapid-Fire Trivia!)

Whoo Hoo! Humble is back. I popped by a few days back to get a Humble and Fred fix and was surprised by the news. It hadn't hit me in Kitchener yet. I'm beginning to wish my drive to work is longer than 2 minutes since that was my favourite time to catch you guys. And I wish that Fred was along for the ride but maybe that too is just a matter of time.
And although I'm no longer there, please do what you can to help Daily Bread enjoy great success in its food drives.
Take care! Congrats!!!

Finally, I can turn my clock radio back on. I really tried to listen to Mad Dog and Billie, but I have a problem with people whose biggest fans are themselves. Truly awful. Seriously, I looked for an alternative station, but was unable to find something that struck the desired balance between juvenile and intelligent. So I have been waking up to my alarm. Pretty bad indictment of the the Mix and Virgin Radio...they are more annoying than the beeping sound my alarm makes.
Glad to have my morning radio back.
