And not just because Opie does. Or any of the other Celebs. I just dig him and I'm fascinated to be alive in a time when a Black man could/should be President.
No I don't think John McCain is evil. He's a good man who has served his country well and deserves our respect and honor. He should have been President 8 years ago but he got shit-canned by the great George Bush and the maniacal Karl Rove and Friends.
It's just no longer John McCain's time. Also he let his peeps talk him into Sarah Palin which was just so nonsensical it doesn't bear commenting. (Sorry Buffalo Jon but I will never be able to figure that out!)
I love watching Fox news and yelling at what a douche Sean Hannity is. That's my favorite part of this election cycle. I've renewed my loathing for Fox news and they're ridonkulous right-wing crap-a-thon. Although to be fair Bill O'Reily is more balanced and fair than you'd think and way more than Sean Douch-ity.
Of course CNN isn't much better in it's lap-dog left-leaning reportage, but they are a little less douchey and mean.
In the meantime I, like many Canadians and others around the planet are riveted to this election and can't wait till next Tuesday. It will be quite the night. Historic, emotional and fascinating and one I hope my children will be telling their children about.
If you haven't seen this it's worth a look.

GWB was the least accomplished person to ever hold the office of US President. As a life long supporter of a conservative agenda I could not possibly support giving the Republicans another 4 years after they have nearly destroyed their country and as a result damaged ours. John McCain would have been a great canidate 12 years ago but today he is yoked with the Bush legacy. You have to give someone else - a chance.

Howard:
I, too, was perplexed at the choice of Sarah Palin. In fact, the day he did it, I stated then and there: "McCain just lost the election". I am not now, nor have I ever been a fan of McCain. But I cannot vote for a Socialist, which Obama definitely is.
Not that it matters a jot, anyway--the election IS already over and we are SCREWED.
I don't dislike Hannity the way you do--he's right more often than not--but I do wish the yelling would stop on BOTH sides. thank you for noting O'Reilly's fairness and CNN's lack of it. But dont' forget about MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc....they lean just as far left, they just hide it from the generally stupid public with varying degrees of success.
Anyway, I will undoubtedly be touch for tips on how to live with socialism, at least in Health Care.
Be well, my friend!

Mr. Capitalism, I am somewhat surprised that you would prefer Obama over McCain. I just recently came across an on-line poll and it stated that about 80 % of polled CEO's of Canadian companies would prefer McCain. Main concern being that Obama may tinker with the NAFTA agreement.
Lou, what's your spin on that?? Factual or just fear-mongering?

Humbly...While I am definitely a left of centre guy, I beleive that a far left agenda is worse than a far right agenda. I believe McCain to be far less radical than W. I ordinarily would support a democrat over a republican any day but I am concerned that Obama is far too left and will do more to damage an already fragile economy than McCain will (every economist will tell you to NEVER raise taxes in a recession...ANY TAXES). It pains me to say it but I would rather not see Obama in the white house (and PLEASE do not think that I want McCain in the white house but you only have two choices). And the one good thing about a McCain victory...4 years of Tina Fey!!!

As I said earlier on Fred's site, it is amazing how people so blindly throw their support behind "the Other" as in not-McCain.
I am really no fan of Obama's, sometimes I wonder who the Democrat is in this election, or of there really is one.
This is possibly nothing more than a bait and switch, it sure comes off that way if you're willing to actually form an opinion and not jump on the Obama Fever bandwagon. It's easy to tell a population with 911 post tramumatic stress disorder what they want to hear.

I think that if you continue to do the same things you shouldnt be surprised at the results. The republicans need to go to the sin bin and figure out why they lost the support of their base.
