Live Music and entertianment

This has been quite a summer for me. I mean besides getting back into Radio and working at ACME and starting a new TV show. Those are all great but I'm talking about the fact that I have seen more live entertainment since July than I had in the last couple of years.
I know part of it is being back on the air and being invited to stuff but I paid for some shows myself before my new gig started.

Starting in early July I saw Steely Dan at Casino Rama. Great show and a big thrill for me and fellow Dan-fans, Stinky, Dan and Freddie P.
Also in that month we took our kids to the Stratford Festival to see The Music Man. Great old-school play where people just break into song for no reason. Kids loved it and I was happy to expose them to it. I nodded off a bit but those theatre seats are so cozy.
Then I was invited to the opening of Jersey Boys, very cool, great singing and one of the best of these musical play types of things that I've seen. People break into song but actually have a reason.
Once the little Radio Show started I got to host the red carpet at Canada's Walk of Fame ceremonies. Extremely cool. Got to meet and shake hands with James Cameron, Michael J.Fox, Steve Nash, Brian Adams and KD Lang. That night I also got to see Adams and KD perform live and they were awesome.
A couple of weeks ago Randee and me got to see my other favorite Randy, perform at Convocation Hall. Randy Newman isn't everyone's thing but some of you may know that I've been a fan for many years and it was very cool for me to see him perform live for the first time. I bought these tickets but I did get to go backstage and meet him. Strange dude but couldn't have been nicer.
Finally last night i was at Let it Be a tribute to the music of Lennon and McCartney featuring Rik Emmitt of Triumph, Fergus Hambleton from the Satellites, Russell DeCarte from Prairie Oyster, Andrew Craig and Damhnait Doyle. Absolutely amazing. I love this music and these folks and this 9 piece band just blew me away. Of course I'm sort of stalking Damhnait now after having her on the show this week. She is Kim Stockwood's besty and former mate from Shaye but I'm pretty sure the 2 of us have something going. Of course Damhnait may not know it yet. She is not only one of the most talented artists but one of the nicest as well....and a bit of a Vagenius(Patent Pending)

So there you have it. It's been fun reconnecting with live entertainment again. I'm always amazed and fascinated by people who are good at anything whether it's watching Tiger play golf or musicians and actors perform.
It's one of the reason I don't watch our local hockey team.
