You've got to be kidding me.
TW won with a 16 foot "must have" putt on the last hole of the tournament to win by one.
Oh really, that doesn't sound too familiar.
I have to admit I haven't watched a lot of golf coverage in 09. Yes I'm really more interested when Tiger's in the mix but I also like watching Weir when he's playing well and Tournaments that matter and so far there hasn't been much of either this year.
Until yesterday.
Tiger has entered 3 tournaments since his wonkey knee got fixed and it's pretty clear he can still play a bit.
I'm including a little video recap of yesterday's coverage in case you didn't get a chance to see it. It's pretty much the same old thing though.
Tiger gets in contention playing semi-crappy.
Tiger plays in final round with leader.
Leader shits the bed.
Tiger sinks putt in the dark to win.
Enjoy.
BTW. I can't wait for the Masters!

Hi Howard,
Did you watch it on the huge new screen on the deck of the starship Humble?

Absolutely. It was amazing and the culmination of all my big screen dreams come true!

I'm happy for you Howard. I can't see watching golf on TV myself but whatever flaots your boat I guess.

Argie.
I hope you show up to the podcast I'd love to meet you in person and find out what makes you so fantastic!

Hey Howard: Count me as a fan of yours and Freddie. I thought you were great on Mojo am640 - then you had to go leave to another station.
Anyway, I'm just not a fan of Tiger. Great player no doubt but his tantrums on the course are not things I admire in a professional athlete. I'm also sick of the TV coverage this guy gets ("oh look there's Tiger walking up the fairway, talking to his caddie, eating a power bar, etc") spare me......

Argie,
Dude I hear your rap and it is strong but it just doesn't add up.
Tw is intense, not petulant.
He is as gracious a sportsman as he talented. The other PGA players not only respect him but from what I've read actually like the dude.
Tiger is one of the "guys" versus Phil who comes off all smile and waves on the course and then acts like an A-hole off the course.
As for the accolades and sycophantic TV coverage, well that goes with the territory and if my memory serves me, Gretsky, Orr, Jordan etc..all received similar treatment.
Looking forward to raising a glass with you on May 2nd.

I recently got a 58" plasma and couldn't wait for Tiger's return to contention. It was awesome to spend my Saturday and Sunday watching Tiger return. Yeah he played like crap sometimes but he got the job done.
I love his intensity and focus. Not sure he will win the Masters (I hope he does) but it will be a treat to watch all the same. And if he doesn't win it I hope to see Phil "manboobs" Mickleson fall apart sometime over the weekend. BTW, I won't be watching the Shell Open this weekend. Better things to do like raking grass or picking dead skin off my feet.
