Dec 5th...Lou would have been 84.

My Dad died 39 days ago. October 27th. 5 weeks, 4 days shy of his 84th birthday.
I thought of this last night during my normal 2 hour toss and turn session between 3-5am. You know, it's not bad when you think of it in the abstract. I mean nearly 84 fairly healthy years and then a quick passing is pretty good when you think of it applied to someone else, someone you don't know, someone who's not your father.
It would have been Lou's 84th birthday today and I thought for the first time since this all began I'd show you a picture of him.
Nearly 84 years is pretty good when you think of it, except when it comes to someone who was your Dad, someone you miss very badly every day.
Happy Birthday Lou!

Beauty and A Couple of Funny-Looking Dudes

I was flying recently with my buddy Dave White. I've mentioned him before. He's my really smart pal/pilot/friend, who at one time was a bouncer and then a cop and now is the funniest person I know, who I believe could easily kill!

Were were flying back from Kingston at 4000 feet and this was the sky.

The view from outside the plane wasn't so pretty.

Our Dog Tucker and His Pals

Our dog Tucker who is a Mi-Ki came to us 2 and a half months ago from Kentucky...hence the name. He is the size of a slipper and today I have crossed some bizarre dog owner line after we arranged a "doggie play-date" with his brother Cooper and step-sister Stella.

This is Tucker

Plane Spotting

My buddy Tim left a comment after seeing some shots from GSIN-the plane's registration-Golf Sierra India November never fails to get a grin from ATC. I'ts a Cardinal 177 RG that I went halfsies on with my buddy DW-who should have his own freakin page! Very sweet ride and one I'd like to share with you. I'm working on a little BLOG contest idea that could end up with you going flying with Canada's finest Jewish Pilot from Moose Jaw.

Cool View from GSIN The official Plane of Humble Howard Air

Many of you may or may not know I have a pilots license, actually a Group 1 Multi-IFR! I know what your thinking..."Holy Crap You in a Plane!" I fly for fun and as safely as I can…in fact a buddy of mine came for a flight with me, after he said he thought there was two Howards-Funny Guy Howard and Pilot Howard and that he couldn't believe how serious I was! No kidding. I wonder if he thought we’d be at 6000 feet and I’d be like juggling and doing card tricks.

Anyway, here’s the first of a few shots from a plane I share with my buddy D White. More about flying and DW later.

This is flying to ottawa at 9 thousand feet

Here's another flying into the city.
